The land in Uganda has such possibility to be used in ways to show and share the love of God. Mercy Uganda hopes to purchase approximately 30 acres to do just that!

 WHAT IS FAITH 500?

Faith 500 is a prayerful vision of Mercy Uganda to raise $500,000.00 to purchase land, build an orphanage and school, and develop and maintain an agriculture and livestock training program. This will provide for the most vulnerable of children in Uganda in so many ways. This plan is outlined below.

This vision has Three Phases, each specific in its goals and purpose:

Phase I: To raise $90,000.00 to purchase land (minimum of 30 acres) for the orphanage, school, and training program.  We have located several key properties that would serve this project well.

Phase II: To begin to clear the land and begin the building of the orphanage, develop the facilities for the agriculture and livestock, and to purchase seed and livestock.  ***The cost for the orphanage-$175,000.00 and the cost for the agriculture and livestock program $30,000.00 for a total of $205,000.00.  We are prayerful planning to begin this phase of the project in 2012.

Phase III: The goal for beginning this phase is Fall of 2013.  This phase is the building of the Primary School (for vulnerable children ages 4 to middle school). This phase would also allow for furnishing the school, and hiring of staff.  The cost for phase three is $205,000.00.  Our prayer is to have the FAITH 500 project completed and fully operational by the end of  2013.

The agriculture and livestock program will not only provide food for the children, but will give the children training in those areas, providing them skills and resources to care for themselves as adults.  This program will  also provide a level of self-sustainability for the orphanage and school as some of the products can be sold.

HOW CAN I HELP?

If you would like to get involved with the FAITH 500 Project, there are several opportunities for you:

1.  Pray for us and for this effort

2.  Consider a financial gift to help it become a reality for us and for the children.

3.  Be a team member to travel with us and help with the clearing of the land and/or the construction work that will take place.

4.  Partner with us in the livestock and agriculture program, donating seeds and helping with the purchase of the livestock. You could even come and help us plant and get this program off the ground!

5.  Partner with us through providing some of the needs for furnishing the home and the school.  Many things can be purchased or built there but it takes money, and it takes skilled workers. 

6.  Share this information with friends and family, co-workers and church members.  We would love to come and share with you too!

 This is one of the pieces of land we have been looking at.  It already has fruit bearing trees and a distant view of Lake Victoria. 

 A little family of pigs.  Mercy Uganda hopes to have a piggery and chickens to start our livestock program, as well as a few dairy cattle to provide milk for the children.
