Home

Mercy Uganda is a Christian non-profit ministry which was born as a result of several trips to Eastern Uganda, and seeing the needs of the women and children there. We felt God calling us to action and our prayer is to walk along side our sisters and brothers in Uganda, providing resources to help improve their current living conditions and give hope for the future. Areas of focus are: improving conditions for safe drinking water and nutrition, providing for needs of basic hygiene, sponsorships for children in education, identify and assist with medical needs, teaching and training in issues related to pregnancy, childcare, HIV/AIDs, and literacy.  We began our journey through ACTI (Africa Christian Training Institute) which has served Ugandan's through pastoral training and church planting since 1983.  Through Mercy Uganda we are now creating ministry work specifically for women and children, recognizing that this will also positively impact the lives of the whole communities and will further enhance the work of our sister ministry ACTI.

What We Do

We work closely with our friends in Uganda, as well as partner with those in the U.S. and other countries who share our passion for ministering to the basic needs of our brothers and sisters in Uganda.  We do this through:

*Fundraising

*Partnering with medical professionals

*Partnering with Educators

*Partnering with those in the field of nutrition

*Partnering with those in the field providing clean water

*Partnering with Ugandans who act as liaisons and client advocates

*Grant research and grant writing

*Public Speaking

*Take multiple trips yearly to identify needs, follow up and provide resources and assistance for needs that were identified during previous visits, to encourage, pray with and for our friends in Uganda, and continue building relationships with our sisters and brothers in Christ.

....and more!

A group of ladies in Kalangaalo who attended a group to discuss womens' issues in their village.  Notice that some are holding small sticks of deodorant and soap, a rarity in this area.   The women were excited about the small gift and cheered when told that feminine items will be brought during an upcoming visit.
